Are you looking for a fun tropical drink that is perfect for sipping on the beach? A Bahama Mama is a delicious blend of orange, pineapple, coconut, and cherry. All you need to make this rum-based drink is orange juice, pineapple juice, dark rum, coconut rum, lime juice, and grenadine. This drink is typically garnished with pineapple and cherry. This recipe makes one 10 oz serving. This drink can be served over ice or frozen depending on your preference.
On the Rocks
If you aren’t a fan of the taste of the rum, you can add in soda water to add a little fizz and take away from the taste of the rum. Alternatively, you can add more juice to the drink to dilute the rum.
Pitcher
If you are planning to serve a group then you may want to make a pitcher of Bahama Mamas to share.
To make the pitcher, all you need to do is combine all of your ingredients into the pitcher. When I make a pitcher of Bahama Mamas, I like to add pineapples and cherries to the pitcher and let the pitcher sit in the fridge for a couple of hours. Bahama Mama-soaked pineapple slices can make a yummy treat!
Frozen
Non-Alcoholic
For the non-alcoholic version of the Bahama Mama, all you need to do is leave out the rum. You can also top the drink with soda water if desired. You can also make a pitcher of non-alcoholic Bahama Mamas by just leaving out the rum. I still recommend putting the fruit in the pitcher and chilling it in the fridge for a delicious treat!
