Hurricane Helene continues to move through the Gulf of Mexico, and is traveling around 12 mph with wind speeds around 60 mph. She is expected to make landfall Thursday afternoon/evening on the Florida coastline in the bend, but there will be surrounding Tropical Storm force winds and rains that will reach Panama City Beach.
No mandatory evacuations are anticipated for Panama City Beach or Santa Rosa Beach. As we mentioned before, the Florida governor has declared a state of emergency as standard protocol to make all emergency services available wherever needed.
At a minimum we expect Panama City Beach and Santa Rosa Beach to receive high winds, and plenty of rain. Please plan to keep safe and avoid driving during this storm. We will continue to monitor the movement and path of this storm on our storm updates blog page.
