Hurricane Helene is now in the Gulf of Mexico, and is traveling around 10 mph with wind speeds around 80 mph. She is still expected to make landfall Thursday evening in the Florida bend. While we remain just slightly outside of the projected cones, we DO expect Tropical Storm force weather. Since the storm is still over 24 hours away, the path can also change, so we will continue to monitor it closely.
No mandatory evacuations are anticipated for Panama City Beach or Santa Rosa Beach, but we ARE under a Tropical Storm Warning.
As we mentioned in our previous messages, the Florida governor has declared a state of emergency as standard protocol to make all emergency services available wherever needed.
Any balcony furniture should be INSIDE YOUR UNIT AT THIS TIME. Please bring it inside and leave it inside until the danger of the storm has passed on Friday.
Please plan to keep safe and avoid driving during this storm. We will continue to monitor the movement and path of this storm on our storm updates blog page.
