As a snowbird, have you ever wondered if there is a place to help you along the way making decisions about your destination, best lodging, or upcoming events where you plan to stay?
If so, you might consider joining a Snowbird Club. It’s easy to find articles that are geared toward summer visitors, but there doesn’t seem to be much out there for winter travelers or snowbirds such as yourself. Just like when we are at home, we tend to want to get out of the house for dinner, a place to meet up with friends or just fun things to do.
Snowbird clubs can help with that by providing articles on the snowbird lifestyle. Not only will they help you find fun things to do, but they can help to educate and motivate you, while they guide you on your journey. They offer financial information, articles about health and wellness, and also with travel tips.
Gulf Coast Snowbirds
Launched in 2006 by media and marketing veteran Karen Harrell, she launched Snowbirds Gulf Coast after nearly two decades working in a variety of roles in traditional journalism, public relations and marketing.
Her goal was to provide information for winter visitors and it has been successful for over 15 years now. As a southerner, she thought about things that she would like to see if she were a long-term visitor on the coast of FL.
One of the signature features of it is a double truck calendar filled with activities. There is also a resources page with helpful information like library locations, social security offices, dog parks, and much more. There you can also find clubs and groups to join. There are also regular feature stories on topics like health, dining, and recreation. There’s also a photo page called “Snowbird Snaps.”
Her most important feature to her of each edition is the warm welcome she make the Snowbirds feel. She loves interacting with everyone and she looks forward to their return each year.
