If you’re looking for a combination of local seafood and comfort food, crab cakes are the way to go. Luckily, if you’re in Panama City Beach, there are plenty of places you can find delicious, fresh crab cakes to indulge your cravings.
Firefly
Firefly is an upscale restaurant on the West end of the beach. Their crab cakes come as a starter, but can be ordered as your meal if you’d prefer. They are made with jumbo lump crab meat and fried green tomatoes, served with a shishito pepper remoulade sauce.
Grand Marlin
Another great place for crab cakes is Grand Marlin, located on the East end near Thomas Drive. Their fresh lump crab cakes are also Maryland-style crab cakes, but served a bit differently. Served with roasted corn relish and a creole mustard butter, the unique flavor you’ll get from these crab cakes is one to remember.
Saltwater Grill
Saltwater Grill is just off the shoreline on Hutchison Boulevard. The crab cakes are served as an appetizer here, but they still pack a punch. Saltwater Grill’s recipe includes a creole crab bisque, corn, and mushrooms for a variety of flavors in every bite.
Runaway Island
Runaway Island is right on Front Beach Road, making it an easy place to access for your evening meal. Once again, Runaway Island serves their crab cakes as a starter, but you can turn any appetizer into a meal. Their crab cakes are done up Maryland-style, and their sauce is the perfect combination of lemon, caper, and mustard. This one is my personal favorite.
